Problem when installing Configuration Manager (SCCM SP2) in Windows 2008 R2

SYMPTOM

When you try to install ConfigMgr on Windows 2008 R2 you can face the problem below to get to the download phase of prerequisites (Component manifest was not found or it was invalid):

When looking at the log created at the root of the installation disc you will find the following snippet:

RESOLUTION

The first step to do here is to try to download the URL above and see if the problem is not the IE Enhanced security that need to be turned off in order to download:

Download the file configmgr.manifest.cab and copy in an empty folder or even that already contains the updates from previous versions of SCCM 2007 and start again the setup process.
