SQL Server Error in the Installation of System Center Operations Manager

12/19/2014

I have already received several times questions of professionals about the error below the installed SCOM in all its versions.

Actually the error is pretty generic and who typically asked me not requirements pages consulted found the problem.

In this specific example that I faked, the error is SQL Server SP1 in 2012 and SCOM requires SP2, which had not yet been applied:

But how to get to this detail to see if the problem is a patch, service pack or communication with the server?

The installer of the System Center generates a log that is in the directory C:\User\ <user>\AppData\SCOM\Logs with the name OpsMgrSetupWizard.txt
