An error that is going on with installing the SCOM 2012 is in the process of creating the DW database.
SYMPTOM
During the installation process, in the process of creating the database of SCOM, DW Installer error and makes the rollback complains of any environment.
While checking the SQL Server database ‘ OperationsManager ‘ is successfully created, the correct permissions and no problem is identified. Using the log can be seen several messages from SO_Access_Denied.
CAUSE
A bug in the Installer causes the wizard to try to build the base with the name of the directory defined in the installer instead of create a database “OperationsManager_DW”.
For this reason it may occur the error of access denied because of the permission on the root directory or above the desired for the bases, mainly when it created a directory tree of level 1 to add the databases.
SOLUTION
When prompted for the “Data file folder” to indicate the full path with the name of the desired file, for example “C:\Data\SCOM_DW” will create the database with the name “SCOM_DW.mdf” in the directory “C:\Data”
This is helpful and confirms what we saw in our logs, it also applied to to the log folder too.
Add a \ at the end fixes it to
Works! But change the path for the logs to, otherwise its not working at all.
