WMF 3.0 Causes Problems with Exchange and SCCM

12/20/2012

In a previous post I commented that to administer a Windows Server 2008 R2 with the Server Manager Windows 2012 (https://msincic.wordpress.com/2012/09/12/monitoring-windows-2008-servers-with-windows-2012-server-manager/) it was enough to install the Windows Manager Framework 3.0 (WMF 3.0).

Recently the WMF 3.0 was offered as an option on Windows Update.

However, now there are warnings that it causes some unwanted behaviors in Exchange 2007/2010 and 2012 SCCM, it is good to check if the product is installed on the server will be affected. The two products are confirmed, but there are many accounts in scripts problems with forums for SharePoint and .NET

Conclusion, WMF 3.0 affect IIS and .NET Framework applications and products with dependencies of IIS and .NET is affected by this issue.
