ESATA external disk Disappears or slow after Connected

A problem that has already happened to me a few times already and had to settle for a few friends is the use of external eSATA disk disappear after connected, or even present extreme slowness to be inserted taking too long to be detected as letter.

When looking at the Event Viewer you will probably find one of the events below:

Event 51: An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk? \DR? during a paging operation.

Event 9: The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period

The event 9 is a consequence of event 51 that indicates an error occurred while creating paging to disk that was inserted.

Different from a USB disk that has limited access to resources, eSATA disks are on the same bus fixed disk of the machine, which causes it to appear as the paging drive, as shown in the figure below.

Configured in automatic mode, Windows will attempt to create on a removable disk, the paging file that generates the error.

Change the virtual memory management by turning off the automatic mode on all disks and leave only on disk c: or other desired fixed and the problem will not occur anymore.
